Questions, help me out (PR and Links)
Questions for ya:

Estimated, how many links requires a good placement in Google, and a good PR? I have made about 25 links to my website thus far.

Another, how long does it take for all those links to be evaluated by Google? Maybe a couple weeks? Or is it a couple months?

And finally, does anyone have a large list or website where I can exchange links all at once? So that I could exchange with maybe 20 or 30 at once? I know some that have 4 or 5 at once, but hoping for large scale. Thanks

How many? Nobody here can answer that with certainty. I have a portfolio page on my site that links to one of my clients' pages. Their site also links back to my main page. My portfolio page comes up #4 on a Google search for one of the terms in their page, and their site doesn't show up at all. AT ALL!

It can take several weeks for Google to crawl your site.

What exactly do you mean by this: "I have made about 25 links to my website thus far." Where did you make these links?

I have...
I have made the links on associated websoites (those dealing in the same industry, in this case, travel accomodations.. i actually have around 30 or so links on seperate websites of mine, and my index page is 'indexed', but none of the other pages on my website are... any thoughts?)

Hey I am in the same situation...trying to increase the number of sites linking to me.

Would I be right in saying that it is only worth looking at sites with a PR of 4 and above?

Also does the 'value' of the link decrease if you link back to that person?

I.e. If a website with a PR of 5 links to me and I link back it wouldn't be as 'good' as if they were linking to me and I don't happen to have a link going back?

Any ideas on this one.

Whoops forgot to ask this too
I noticed that the PR for a site I want to have my link on is 5 but the page where my link would be is only 3.

Am I right in thinkin that Google will take the page rank of 3?
