Search engines have algorythms to determine if it is a "gateway page" which it appears to be.

Your choices are:

1. Eliminate your index.html page and have your main page be index.php

2. Move all the content on index.php to index.html

Why do you have a gateway page anyways? Almost all studies show they actually reduce your legitmate traffic and make you appear much less professional.

Sounds like a good idea - try moving it into your main content index page.

Neither google or your visitors want to have to click and extra link to get into your main site.

Rather then waste my breath about why using gateway pages and spash pages for your web site is bad, look at the top competitors that are top ranking for your keywords - I bet you will find 0 that use your outdated practice for good reasons.

Also there are 0 sites that are in the fortune 500 that do this, get a clue.
