SEO and Mod_rewrite
I have a mod_rewrite thing that makes my url show with a '?',
few examples: /page?something /mail?GeorgeBush?Subject I was wondering if it's SEO friendly or not. Also what about: /page/something or /page-something ? Thanks in advance ! |

/page/something/ is best for SEO as far as i know. And it looks much better than /page?something, atleast for me

The best is probably /page-something rather then /page/something even though this is very close to it. The only reason this looks better is that search engines will see this as a root/level page, like http://www.domain.com/page-something rathen then as another folder as it would be with http://www.domain/page/something
While there may not be to much difference, search engines do prefer things that are closer to the root level in directories, even if it's only just for ease of navigation. One way to experienment and see what works better for your site is to set up two test pages, one at each different way, and see how well each of them does. Personally, I'd go for /page-something, but if someone else out there has some more info, please share. ![]() |

Yup, Google and Yahoo translate dash (-) into a space.
So www.yourdomain.com/keyword-keyword is the best option
