SEO Problems

Hi,

I have my doman since earlier 2003. It has been added to Google. but I am not getting good results. when i search "domain" search engine show just main page..
and when I search with.com "domain.com" then search engine shows my whole structure directories.. e.g. images/ styles/... even some directories have been deleted. I used these techniqus..

( made my website with php linking e.g index.php?id=25)



(Music is just for making a structure.)

Anyone can help?

use robots.txt to exclude pages and files you don't want to google to index. get more backlinks to the pages you want to googlebot to crawl. ranking or SEO will take some time.

Thanks for you reply. What do you mean by backlinks? could you please explain. where to get best for code robots.txt?

Backlinks = backward links, link to a page from another page.

Seems like you are depending on your Meta tags to get you rankings on the search engines. First of all, be aware that Meta tags do not carry the impact they used to. Use them properly, but do not depend on them as a primary method for SEO.

Also, if you are searching on your domain name, isn't the main page where you want people to start? I don't see a problem there. However, is that what the public is going to be searching for; your website name? If not, you need to worry about what's on the pages of your site. Search Google for that & see how your site ranks.

First rule: Content is king. Make your site's pages content heavy. In other words, use CSS for layout, not tables (you'll have a higher content to code ratio); don't use Flash for navigation or layout (search engines can't see any content in a Flash file); minimize extraneous code as much as possible (don't use scripts if you don't have to, for example). Images are not content. Background music is not content.

Also, work on getting other people's sites to link to yours.

dxdp - You should know that google does NOT touch meta tags. AT ALL. You don't need them, they are from the early 90's and do precisely null these days. Anyone who tells you otherwise is FOS. The only meta tags you ever need are keywords and description - these work in some ****ty search engines only. No meta tag will help you climb the SEO ladder at all. You have to do a heck of a lot more than that

Thanks MasterMinds, Ok now I wil just add description and keywords. but how long does it take to work robots.txt? I have uploaded. Yahoo opens my whole structure, google is'nt Google just showing same single page. what is the procedure to get high rank on goolge?
