Sitemape and subdomains

hi,

finally got the online shop running. nw, my question:
i have a sitemap for my site www.chocolateriewanders.com
i also have a shop in www.chocolateriewanders.com/shop

i know not to include the stuff in /shop in my main sitemap, so i created a different sitemap for /shop

Do i put this second sitemap into the main domain folder (.com) or into the /shop folder? I read somewhere on the web to put it next to the existing sitemap, but google advised me different - to put it in the /shop part - so i did.

Any take on this? What is right and what is wrong?

Also, I used some online sitemap generator and they also included some redirct things in the addressbar ... those i removed and just included the pages with search engine friendly urls ....

/shop is a subdirectory, not a subdomain. It would be a subdomain if it was shop.domain.com.

It should be fine putting everything into one sitemap in your root (main domain folder).

right now i have two sitemaps, one in root and one in /shop
google is fine with this it seems ....
i had two links inside the sitemap in /shop that linked to files in root and google saw that as an error.

i guess as long as google is not concerned i am alright? eventually google bot will crawl everything and see the connection anyways, right?
