Traffic Building...

I have a website that is now several months old, I am looking for a way to getting large volumes of web traffic to my site.

Can anyone suggest a particularly effective approach? What is the most effective method you've used?

Large volumes eh?? Welcome to the club, my friend.

Anyways, there's no real set approach to what you're looking for, there are a million variables...however, here are a couple key ones;

1.) Backlinks; search google etc. with 'add url' and then the catagory of your website...this will give you a list of sites, like yours, that offer link exchanges. Keep relevency in mind when swapping links, that's key.
2.) Content; always add fresh, relevent, keyword rich (not too rich tho) content. Most engines gobble the stuff up, and the more you ad, the better. 'Content is King' according to numerous resources.

Anyways, that's a start...check this out, there's tons of info there.

Hope that helps!

there's no easy and quick ways to build large volumes of traffic. It takes lot of work and long time. You can run PPC for high quality traffic, but that costs money too.

1) build solid user base
2) SEO for search engine traffic

As I have found so far, it is indeed taking a lot of hard work and time, link requesting, adding to directories, patience is key here.

Has anyone used www.gotlinks.com?? I am a member of the site and have 1000+ sites linking to my site. Does anyone know if this does more harm than good in terms of search engine rankings?

Has anyone had any success with gotlinks.com?

hi...check this out...there's a bit of a debate going on about whether it is considered link farming and so on.

i haven't used it personally, so have a look thru that.

good luck

That is very useful, thanks. I am a bit worried about whether I should continue with gotlinks at the moment. I will suspend my gotlinks account for now and see what impact that has and also wait to hear confirmation of whether gotlinks really is harmless....

However, on the gotlinks.com faqs page they state they are not a web farm....I still don't know if sites are penalised by google if they use gotlinks though...

How can you tell if your website is sandboxed?
