Want to have a link from a great site?

I've just set up a new website offering advice on UK spread betting companies but I am having trouble building links.

I'd be interested in swapping links with people from reputable websites. No black hattters please!

You can add your link using my auto script at http://www.spreadbetting-uk.co.uk/links/form.html
Thanks guys.

Use Google link: by all means but yahoo returns the best results.

Google tends to return a lot of internal links and only external links above PR4/5.

Yahoo tends to give you more lower PR external links.

Also you could try to write articles about the history of gambling, each game etc... and submit them to article sites (while placing them on your site) unique content.

Start a forum for beginners, with a hand selected one for the pros so they have to login, when your site starts to take off, that is, as you will need good return customers for you to get posts. It would set you out from the rest but you would need an incentive for the bigger players to post - hand select them give them free games/buy-ins per posts per month.

ie: 10 posts a month equal 2 free buy-ins. Obviously make sure you don't lose money

But make sure you pick the players yourself. Maybe the best one/two players/month. That way the good players will come as you will be different and they will get something for nothing and you will get unique content in return.

VC Poker released a book (£15) how to play poker what tight aggressive means how to look out for it etc... However the book was dedicated to VC Poker thus creating customers.

You could do the same but an online blog (free) for beginners. Unique content and it may generate you some links as well as return customers.

Those three techniques might generate you quite a few links. Make yourself unique and the rest will follow.

Just be creative in your link building.

Try to build links natually by creating useful articles and content.

If you manage to exchange links , sooner lo laterl they will disappear

Sorry to say, but I had always avoided exchanging links with any sites.
Some theme related sites would be an exception [not easy to get links from them though].
Instead of link exchange I would prefer building one way links. There are many ways to to do this. One of them is link baiting, preferred by most of the smart webmasters, bloggers. Initially you need to put lots of effort, but it's worth.

Link baiting is where you create something that people naturally want to link to. A game, a daily joke, a daily poll that sort of thing. These are things that will benifit other sites and thier users, so those sites link to you for free to get the benifit of your programme/script.

If you get creative you can build a programme that has to pull something out of your db. As in put this quote of the day script on your site for free. The script or the program uses your db to make it work, or is built into the program/script. The catch is they have to link to your site to be able to use it or you only give them permission to use it if they keep a link on thier site back to you.

As in you are baiting them to link to you. Think of it as fishing. You put a worm/maggot (free program) on a hook to catch the fish (free back links).
