Web Site Submission

Can anyone advise on using web site submission software? Its a drag submitting to individual sites, and I have been doing sites for others and don't want to go through this time and time again. Do these programs really work, and any suggestions on good ones?
Or should I just take the time to submit to the big engines one by one?

submitting

Don't bother using auto submitters.
If you check the info pages on Google etc they will all say that auto submitters are ignored by them.
In fact there are only a few you really need to submit to, with Google being the biggest.
Since Yahoo.com uses Google's results you can forget that.
Altavista doesn't work with auto submitters anyway since you have to put in a special code.
Teoma should be manually submitted to if you want to be taken seriously.
There is quite a good site at :

http://www.freewebsubmission.com/

which has up to 50 SEs to auto submit to, but turn off all the big engines and submit to them manually.

And don't bother submitting to Google more than once.

Also don't believe some of the rubbish around that some engines will only get to you in 5-6 weeks, Google can find you sometimes in 1 DAY OR LESS so make absolutely sure that your site is complete before you even upload it !!

That means all Meta tags, Title tags, headers and body text all complete and ready to roll.

If this isn't done Google will still index you but will simply index you under whatever it finds !!

Submitting to search engines is a waste of time. Just get links pointing to your site and the bots/se's will find you.

In the last 4 months, that has all changed again. Yahoo! broke off their relationship with Google, purchased a number of other search engines (including Inktomi), and used their technology and databases to create their very own Yahoo! spider. This spider now provides primary search results for Yahoo!, Directory listings are still in a separate directory, and Google is out of the picture entirely. Google is poised to go public at long last, an IPO dangling on the horizon, and talks about new and innovative search strategies they are pursuing to keep their hold on the market. Yahoo! counters with similar talk. MSN threw their hat into the ring, and will be debuting their own spider later this year, along with new features.

Don't bother submitting to the SE's. Just get links pointing to your site - that will get you indexed faster than submission (auto or manual) ever will.
