What influences PR apart from links?

What influences PR apart from links?

I am trying hard to increase the google page rank of my online casino directory, Playhard UK Casino . Last week my PR finally went up from zero to two overnight.

I think this was from a link swap I did with another site, but are there other factors that influence PR, e.g. having the right keywords?

Any help would be much appreciated.
