It is a process of creating backlinks out of the web 2.0 sites. Try to create some unique contents which can be put in the web 2.0 sites like bloggers with an anchor text point to the next article as well as to your site.

A link wheel basically is a process in which you build a dozen or so new blogs/web pages using web 2.0 properties such as squidoo, blogger, hubpages and etc, all on the same topic as your main blog or website.

Here is a quick example on how you can create a link-wheel:

- Write a Squidoo lens about your website topic
- Write a blog and include a link back to your squidoo lens
- Create a hubpage and relate it to the blog
- Create a Google knol and link it back to the hubpage
- Search Google for the best wheel spokes to get links from.
- Email the controllers of the spokes and inform them your content exists and ask for a link

There are mixed opinions about the legitimacy of link-wheels and you can assume it to be a grey-wheel SEO...

There is nothing wrong with providing good and diverse content on a certain topic you are good at, and then linking them to other articles that you have written.

What is WRONG will be if you do so but act in a spammy manner: doing crazy linking for no other purposes than to increase your links.

So, the key is to make it as natural as possible.

Link wheels allow you to get back links from different websites also give you opportunity to submit your content, where you can create blog on different website like Wordpress, blogger, create lens in Squidoo, hub page, Write content related to website give link of blogger blog and submit it in Wordpress is the way to create link wheels

Let me explain in brief: If you have four blogs A, B, C and D than give link blog A->B->C->D->A, this way create wheels of link is called link wheels

Hi,
My opinion is different than others (please do not mind). A network of websites that share links of one another could be considered as link wheel. Please note all websites in this network give each other back link in order to gain some link juice.

Where you are trying to fool the mechanism of search engine algorithm, you are doing it unethically. And an unethical SEO is considered as BLACK HAT. Here in case of link wheel every site try to get the link juice benefit for the sake of increasing PageRank (since they normally do not put rel="nofollo", and this is the problem with this approach.

regards
zabalex

what is a link wheel strategy? Link wheel strategy is where you’ll be creating web 2.0 websites like wordpress, blogspot, squidoo, and other web 2.0 websites that will link to your money site. In the old days, they just link their web 2.0 websites to their money site which is not a good idea. But now, it has been improved. How? By linking your web 2.0 websites to each of your web 2.0 websites and also to your money site. Why do it that way? Because it will not only increase the popularity of your money site but it will also increase the popularity of your web 2.0 websites which will give MORE power to your money site. That is why it is called the Link Wheel Strategy.

Link wheel is a technique in which we interconnect web 2.0 websites and then link back all those websites to main website. But you should know after Penguin update this method is known as Black-hat seo method.
