Where to learn about SEO.
Hi folks. I'm mostly into programming, but I like to know a little of everything.
So beside programming I'm a little into web design and SEO.

But I would like to learn more about SEO. Any good sites, books ...etc

I know the basics, like how to chose keywords, where to put them ...etc but there is still alot to learn.

SEO is more of an art than science at the moment. it's about experiment and experiment if you know the basic SEO already - PageRank, keyword popularity, keyword competition, on-page and off-page SEO.

Best place to learn SEO is by surfing the many websites that specialise in this area. Type "search engine optimisation" into your favourite browser and you'll have plenty to start with. One of the best sites is

I also compiled some urls of submission sites at my URL Submission List for manual site submission, although I don't have time to update it. It's at

Most of them changed from free submission to the paid model. Google and Yahoo still has the free submission.

And for those who wants technical details, try to read the original Google's PR technology at:
http://www-db.stanford.edu/~backrub/google.html

Most forums and articles will teach you how to use the correct methods. I don't think anyone has figured out how exactly the search engine works. Their advices are based on basic principle, experience, and trial and error. If they know it exactly, Google will hire them

My advice is don't try to trick the search engine. I will get you banned.
