Where to put the key words at the front of the page.
I've been told that to help make my page search engine friendly I should place my key word(s) in the first twenty five words of my content.
Does that include the text within my <H1> heading or do I begin counting the twenty five after the closing tag </h1>? ![]()

I would say it definately includes H1 tags...they are viewed by spiders as important (titles), so i'd count it towards the total keywords. Use consise, descriptive headers.
Hope that helps!

Are subsequent headers taken into account by the search engines as well. If I place key words in a second level <H2> or third level <H3> header, will the spiders consider them in the page's placement too? Thanks ![]() |

anything that is after<body> tag considers as content, so it meters how fast it will get to your main caption, as most likely you website has usual side bar with links and graphical header with links, so count those as your content as well, so i would suggest if you can have two templates for the pages one is so called site map, that puts link ahead so spider can crawl to your pages, and second template is you content template for specific pages with text, like articles lets say, in this case you want most of the navigational links to be after the main caption, that way if spider stops crawl the page before it links start, you will have less exits out of this page, that make that page more desirable for the spider.
about the h1 and such tags, these tags just tell the importance of text, or lets say the suggestion to the importance of the text that is with in these tags |

When the spiders visit your site they read through it top to bottom, left to right following the rows and columns.Hence every thing should be crisp and clean and also relevant to their searches.
However H1 tags are good way to add importance to your content, but you should use them wisely. |
