why isnt google ranking my site better?

My site is on google. I know this because when i type in reg2make in the search box, my site appears at the top. However, when i type in personal number plate, or any other of my keywords, my site doesnt appear in the results

why is this?

my site is www.reg2make.co.uk

I've noticed that google picks up the first few words in your page. However, if you make changes it usually takes awhile for those to reflect.

Most likely because there's less competition for the search reg2make then there is otherwise.....

Take my site, highpi.4t.com, it's the top hit in multiple Google searches for things like "download pi digits" and "million pi digits" etc..... but not even in the top 500 for just "pi"....... Painful, but reality......

dave,

The PageRank of your home page is low (3). You need to get more links. Your page (for instance, the title) isn't search engine friendly either.

Read increase hits - build website traffic from search engines It's a step by step guide on how to rank on top on Google.

your idea of tool for search statistics at google is exciting

I visited your site and used that tool for searches at google last month. Where did you get these figures? You know if you get even somewhat approximate figures you can be paid millions for that. I tried it and for most of the keywords it gives less figures that overture and sometimes even much less than overture

For popular keywords, overture number are greatly overestimated 'cause much of search was done by SEO. My estimate is for search from real users. where's my million .

The data are from many resources and aggregated by a mathematical model.

Your page is not properly optimized.
My guess is that this is the main reason yuo're not getting high rankings in serps.

Something you should do to be more search engine friendly.
Your CSS code, link to it froman external file, as it is now you're adding more code to the page and spiders are reading it before the text on the page.

2) Put your javascript code at the very bottom of yuor page. As it is now, spiders are reading your script before your text.

3) You have far too many keywords in your title tag. It is recommended that you have a max of 7-8, no more. You could get penalized.

4)you have some really ugly code..really ugly. No offence intended, I just want you to know this also affects you.
You have multiple <head> and <body> and <title> tags. You're only allowed one of each for every document. Go through your pages and corect this.

5)you are not using any alt tags for images. Use alt tags, use them to describe what the image conveys..if you can try to sneek in a keyword or two, but do it tastefully. Not spammy.

That's about all I can think of right now, kinda tired at 6am..
Hope that helps in getting better rankings.

Does your site not appear in the serps for your keywords at all or does it just rank poorly? Have you checked to see that your keyphrases are commonly searched?

words such as numberplates and numberplate are on google, around position 230ish, which isn't very helpful. if you type in reg numerplate, my site appears page one, but this is due to reg being in my url i guess.

maybe i shud have called it http://www.reg-numberplates-persona...eap-car-reg.com

??
