Cool Why pay for Traffic when you can build it by your self and free.

Hi all

Why pay for Traffic when you can build it by your self and free.
I have some way to build your own traffic (free)

1.Writing article and post it to article websites. I am sure everyone here can read and write why dont you write some article and put a link banc to you.

2.Bloging post blog that your interest in, but donot spam

3.When you decide to pay why dont you join pay per click program (adword or overture) that you can get 1,000 quality traffic to your site by 50 dollars

I think 100,000 traffic that you buy from link exchange program is very low quality. It can not compare to 10 visitors that click to your site from an article you write.

Another free way of building traffic to your site is posting in high traffic forums with link to your website in the forum signature. Make sure you contribute to the forum with quality posts and don't just spam to show up your signature.
Good Luck

Regards
MTS

This sort of thing I have never understood about the web, even after all this time using it.

What mts2006 is suggesting is simply fake, its creating traffic to your site with users that really have no interest in it. For example I have rarely seen a useful site in anyones Forum sig?

Whats the point of all this fake traffic, it just makes money from nothing?

First responding to mts2006:

It is true, you can do those things, and get traffic to your site. But when you pay for traffic with something like a PPC service(NO link exchanges = SE no no ), you can get targeted hits to your site, and based on the general aspect of cost of the ad vs a normal sale, the traffic can be worth the money.

jakenoble:

As soon as people started realizing that their sig links help to backlink counts and the such, people put the link in their sig. I actually click sig links a few times a sitting when roaming the forums. But to agree with you, most are not intresting.
A small aspect that make the sig link more click-able for me, is a description of what the link is (other than the direct keywords in the link). If someone give me a short description that catches my eye, I am more apt to look at it.

I can see both sides though.

Sometimes you have to pay for PPC to get you're site exposed. Also if you are managing lots of sites you need more time to do it. This is an example that you should pay for PPC.

The point of organic seo is to build an incoming link density so as search engines will pickup on your wide-spread popularity and feed you freely available traffic.

So long as it's on-topic with the website you are linking to then it should be ok.

Links

Like it or not, every site needs traffic. If its targeted then it may convert to sales. If not it wont. No point getting thousands of irrelevant links from some web link farm. You've got to make people WANT to link to you.

First off you should read up on meta tags and use them in your document correctly.

Another important thing to do is to submit your website to relevent directories but avoid automatic submissions as these give you little control over the quality of the sites your URL will be included in and may even prove detrimental to your SERPs performance.

A great resource where you can find out masses of invaluable information about SEO and site promotion can be found over at SEO Chat - IMO a priceless resource
