Yahoo and MSN good Google sucks
My ranks in MSN and yahoo for http://www.sexy-tan.com are pretty good, within the first few pages and I'm in there for less searched for items that are really specific, which is good.

However my google rank sucks. I've written a link bot that goes and finds sites for me to link to, but none of the links have been picked up yet by google. Is this the only thing that's keeping me from getting a good rank in google too? just the # of backlinks?

I'd love some input..

Man google has driven me crazy. Before I was on the number one spot for every keyword I used. Then my server couldn't handle the traffic. And it crashed, after that crash google reindexed my site and then it never was the same. Now my site isn't even indexed by google no more.

I hope Yahoo will take over the number one spot for search engines and lets all forget about google...

i would recommend checking out seochat.coms articles on google. there are a lot of them. it's pretty frustrating trying to keep up with what google is doing. there are a tonne of variables in getting position in google.

Hmmm... It's funny how webmaster's opinion of search engines corrolates only with how well their own sites are doing in them.

One day you praise G when your ranking is good, the other day when you're down, its "G is **** man, way ****".

I was saying my ranking sucks, not saying that google sucked...but, now that you mention that I'm starting to take up the idea of google sucking all together too.

Thanks for the preaching pastor.... Next time make sure the choir is drinking in the loft before you pull out a high and mighty speech on everyone.

Don't give up on Google
Google rankings are so frustrating. Mine have dropped off the SERPS altogether. I still have good rankings for my main site (playhard) in Yahoo and MSN, but they give me no traffic.

Google is just too important. I hope Yahoo comes back sometime but for now you've got to keep trying at Google imho.

aging delay is one of big factors in google's ranking alogrithm. Links have to be there long enough to benefits your SERPs.

Ok your link bot finds relavent sites to yours. But how are you getting them to link to your site once you have found them?

Do you get a response when asking for reciprocal links? I've been unsuccessful so far. I know its probably because I have a low - erm, VERY low page ranking - but how am I supposed to get started?

Yep i had 10 times the number of pages indexed by Yahoo ofver google at one time for my web site, avitar.net.

Googles bot is the hardest to please and you are not alone in the struggle. The best things you can do to improve your status is:

- Get back links to relevant sites on pages with relevant content.

- Update your site with new relevant content regularly and link the new content on your homepage.

- Make the page search engine freindly and valid code.

- Don't try to stuff keywords into your content or otherwise try and fool the google bot.

- Add google ad's to your site.
