Yahoo(yes) - Google(no)
I get pretty good page ranking with Yahoo but Google just won't pagerank me at all. My Google pagerank is 2/10 and will not show up for a specific keyword I search for. Why is this happening?

First (and most important) question... How old is your site?
Google has a Sandbox that stops pretty much anything that's under 6 months old, a lot more that are up to 12 months old, and a good few that are up to 36 months old, ranking for anything. That also does depend on the keywords that you're going for as well. Yahoo! doesn't have the same sort of things, and that's why you'll normally see better results on there, and on MSN then you will on Google. On top of that, the Google algorythm is harder to crack and is constantly changing. As far as the PR goes, to raise that just get more in-bound links, it's that simple. |

You probably just need more links to the pages containing your keywords.
Or you're banned by Google for looking spammy. |

Try google's site advisor - it will tell you what the problem is.
I don't know about this sandbox thing. I've ranked new sites on terms within a week. You might be targeting competitive terms. Also, make sure you're not in the suplemental index. Try a google search with "site:yoursite.com" This will tell you how many of your pages have been indexed. Check out this article for more. Make sure you have a good amount of incoming links. Saw this today: http://popuri.us/ which will give you good stats about your site. |
