Automatic exporting/getting policy rules from Routers/Firewalls

I'm working about anomaly policies in firewall and NOW I want to make a program to get policy rules from routers automatically, and then analyse them to detect anomalies.
BUT I dont know that it's possible data exporting/getting from routers/firewalls automatically?
I will be glad if you help me to know how can I do this, by protocol such as SNMP, or otherthings....
