hot linking from my Gallery

Hi all,
Could someone please tell me how to keep others from hot linking pics from my gallery pages

The link for mod_block.c is invalid. It should be http://www.apache.org/dist/contrib/modules/1.2/mod_block.c

Go to -> http://www.engelschall.com/pw/apache/rewriteguide/#ToC38 and copy the codes, then paste it to http://www.yourdomain.com/.htaccess file.
In addition, add this line:

RewriteEngine On

before RewriteCond line.

thanks again, this is so difficult for me to understand, I must be looking at it wrong, when I create the thaccess file I add the text to that, and replace the quux-corp with my site page url for my gallery? is that required for each page, do I add a error message? I really need a step by step instruction, I am going to get it, I just need a little extra help. If you can give me a little clearer example or some were to fine this help that would be great.
