Restricting messenger use
I have a Windows 2000 Server domain. How do I restrict users from logging onto Windows Messenger/Yahoo Messenger, etc?

Why do you have to do that ?
You can delete all messengers and forbid users to download them...Locking may be a good choice... However, if you force them to do so, they will do it secretly by many different ways...You wont know anything then... Not sure if what i say is correct though... |

Just prevent access to the programs through group policy. You'll find somewhere a setting which allows you to stop users opening certain programs. Add the program names of the two messengers.
