    Russian & China visits

I noticed on several of my sites, been receiving daily hits from China, Russia, and India.
From my understanding, these could be hackers.
For security reasons should I block them?

For my Wordpress sites it would be easy, as there is a plugin.
For my other sites, I can use .htaccess to block them.

Blocking IPs is not the best since hackers can change their IP.
So I wouldn't blocking a country be a better way?

Um, what? You don't happen to be a bit xenophobic, do you?

As far as I know, most hackers actually come from the USA. So why don't you block the USA?

Why canít I use certain words like "drop" as part of my Security Question answers?
There are certain words used by hackers to try to gain access to systems and manipulate data; therefore, the following words are restricted: "select," "delete," "update," "insert," "drop" and "null".

Though this week it was Indonesia with the most hackers... lets block the whole internet.... If you are on the paranoid side of things then I would get CloudFlare and their wordpress plugin which is free for non-ssl sites.

Well, it depends on the content of your site. If it is the web-site of some local interest-group, i.e. "Honolulu street-ball amateurs club" etc. - then perhaps such visits are unexpected.

However, if your website is more widely targeted (blog about trips, programming-related, web-shop etc.) then I see nothing strange here.

Note, I am writing this from Russia, I am Russian myself and what is worse - I served at KGB troops (ok, just border guards - but they were a department of KGB). So you may think that our Secret Service is watching you!

Please relax, nowadays the world is too small and strongly connected by the web so you may expect people visits from anywhere. Real hackers could use US or EU based proxies so you could not block them in such way.

However, if you see no harmful activity - they are supposedly not hackers.
