Hi, im building a site now and doing all the cgi stuff in c/c++ and i thought about the whole url encoding scheme and had the idea of doing something like the following.
In the url will be an integrity value, on the server side this value will be checked to see if there was tampering with the url itself. This can be great for putting timestamps in the url themselves or even in forms. The "integrity" string will simply be generated from the string being encrypted (fast algo) and then hashed in the md5 algorithm.
This should make sending false data to the server impossible and its easy to implement.

Great idea. I think the next step should be submitting your idea (in every detail) to www.shouldexist.org
