Hello, this is the first time I write on this forum. I'm working on an iris recognition project, I used the Libor Masek's Matlab code. I have some difficulties in understanding the filtering stage. In the code a 1-D log gabor wavelet is used: first of all why don't we have to use a 2-D filter (we don't consider filtering columns). And why it's better to use a log filter? In his paper Daughman used a 2-D Gabor filter, probably there are some advantages in this approach. Besides in the code a single filter is used even if there's the possibility to use more filter ...in this case what would be the principle of working to extract the code? We would obtain more templates? In what the filters differ eachother? Please if there's someone that can give me some delucidacions conctact me also by mail

i m also wrking on this project as my final year project...but i m following teh Daugman completely ..specially.. for EXTRACTION OF IRIS PATTERN.. using Fourier TRansformation... ...USING matlab for its developement..
