Question File Storage system

hi all,
In my current project a large number of pdf files are created. Right now we store them in a folder and store the file path in mysql database . But now we are thinking of moving to the GridFs system of MongoDb for storing the files in the db itself.

I want some suggestions regarding if this is the best approach ? Or there are some other open source tools/packages/frameworks available for this purpose.

P.S. This is my first post in this community. So I am not sure if I am posting the query to the right forum.

Thanking you
Regards
Sarthak

It's impossible to make a recommendation based on so little information. All we know is you create a large number of pdf files, based on that tiny bit of requirements I would say mount a fast file system on a RAID array with an optical link to the source of the files.

What are your requirements?
What is this data used for?
How much of it is there?
How will it be searched?
Why would anybody search it?

If I had time, I could probably come with at least a dozen relevant questions, all of which you should have asked yourself before you even started investigating this issue.
