generating strings
hi,
can anyone pls tell me an algorithm to generate strings... it should be ale to generate a string of any length and it should be able to generate it like this: character set [a-z][0-9][A-Z] a b . . . z aa ab . . . az ba if that algorithm can take character sets to generate strings... that will be great thanks

this is one the most simple implementations of a backtrackiong algorithm. i've talked about it in a previous Topic. just look on the net for BACKTRACKING ALGORITHM. it's easy to understand and it will create all the possible solutions.
but i'm opened to any more questions about it ![]() |

Dang,
I always thought that the thing to do was to go to the top column of Excel (in RC notation) and get the next exntry from there. Csaba Gabor Don't get in a huff - it's a joke. |
