How to manage sessions between to web applications on the same web server

hello all,

I am working on the websites created in jave/j2ee, in which i have to different web application. I want to give link to other site runiing on the same server after loing in the first website. Then I want to return into the first site using the link given in the second one.

can anyone help how this functionality achieved?
