I am trying to come up with an STL tree nary container and just wonder if anybody here have a working one or can help with ideas on how to do it.

Are you referring to a ternary tree by any chance? BTW, the STL library implements container classes, but they may not necessarily be implemented as trees. You can try searching Dr. Dobbs Journal for more info about ternary trees -- IIRC, they published an article on ternary trees by Jon Bentley a few years ago.
