A DS chat room?
I don't think a chat room would be such a bad idea to have (as long as you needed to have 100 posts or something to use it).
Although, I can totally understand if that's not an option, because this site isn't about socializing. Anyways, just a thought.

I'm not big on chat.... I'll troll the forums, I'll troll that shoutbox, but I wouldn't troll a chat room....
Although, that may actually be the biggest fact in favor of it ![]()

I actually like IRC and do qutie a bit on DALNet and Freenode, but I don't know as though IRC would be so great for devshed. If there was an IRC room (or rooms) I might hang out, so long as I could use my own client. I really dislike those java web-based chat clients.
I think devshed is fine sticking to being a forum only place though.

The problem with a chat room would it would need to be not used for any help whatsoever. The benefits of the forums are that the posts are all recorded and archived, and, if the guru was asleep when the Q was asked in a chatroom, they miss it, but on a forum, they can check back later.
A chat room for socialising only might be nice, but I doubt I'd use it. |

I would really like that. It's all in real time and you don't have to refresh like you do for the shoutbox.

It could ... if you wanted it to ... or your implanted chip would already know, so now you just need an API for DevShed to call your stats back from the Big Brother MotherShip ![]() --Ax |

Is that the unofficial one that scorp hints at?

Probably. I couldn't remember if it was Christo or scorp that had it in their sigs. I googled Christo first and it came up. Might have been both of them.
I've no idea if it's still active or not - haven't tried.
