A few things
Hey,
I like these forums, very helpful but there are a few things that annoy me ![]() 1.) What version of VB is this? It's really old I can tell. Can't you enable all the nice AJAX stuff? B.) Can you turn off the "click to reply" for quick reply? It's annoying. III.) Once I've typed my message in quick reply I like to hit "tab + enter" to post it.. but on these forums it selects spell check. Can you change that so when i hit tab it goes straight to post reply? I keep opening spell check on accident (annoying!). I would use alt +s but that only works for IE. I think there were a few more but these are the main ones!

No. I don't have Javascript enabled for anything, so I wouldn't be able to post anything! Actually, that might make the admins enable AJAX I think 10% of the people on Dev Shed have Javascript disabled, and a few of those 10% are our biggest helpers.Quote:
Then don't use it. That is all I can really suggest. I use quick reply for a lot of posts unless they are really really long. I know a lot of uses use it too. It is a lot easier than a full reply in my opinion. Quote:
Weird, I just noticed ALT+S doesn't work in Firefox for the quick reply.

I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure that for the people who have JS disabled, it reverts back to the way it is now but the people who have it enabled have things to make posting easier etc.. Quote:
it's more annoying to open up a new page than click a button. I don't see the point in having to click it ![]() Quote:
Yeah, that's why I always use "tab + enter" but I end up on spellcheck on these forums :/ |

ALT+S does work in Firefox - it may be a bug in Firefox that may not have been fixed ...
fix here!!

It's not a bug so much as a developer decision. Alt+Shift+S works instead.

modified version of it, and so the admins have said before that they are unlikely to update it unless they need to. Quote:
via the "display modes" dropdown, you'd see why the "click to reply" step is necessary. ![]() Ok, fair enough, most people will always click on the button on the last post of the thread for convenience, but some people do use it properly... Quote:

I always use quick reply, can never be bothered waiting for the full reply page to load plus I know all the BB code syntax I commonly use off the top of my head. Do you just mean have the box enabled as default as opposed to disabled as default till the quick reply button is tapped?
I don't mind having to click the submit button to post my reply since I usually give it the quick once over to make sure I splet stuff correctly :¬) I like how you ask for the AJAX stuff but then didn't even bother to use BB code to write your list... |
