ability to rate priority/importance of post

i think it could be useful to add a mod/hack that allows users to rate the priority or importance of there post. i often have questions that i consider low priority. many probably would argue that there are enough things being added already, for example the belts. ppl might either always use high priority to be selfish (new members most likely), or simply never use the importance thing at all. ideally it could be helpful i think, but i understand the flaws like i have mentioned above. perhaps such a hack could make it so you couldnt rate the priority of your post until you have had 50 post or whatever (random number there pretty much), in order to stop new members from trying to be greedy.

what do you all think regarding this idea?

another random idea.. maybe a little silly, i dont know...

have an option for "urgent" in post priority...if a person is on your friends list and posts something "urgent", you get an email notifying you of the post/etc. i think you all get the point heh.

mainly trying to be creative,think of new things ive never really seen in a forum that could be cool possibly.

I don't think it'd work. People would just make everything high-priority. You outlined the flaws above.

we already have it, look at the top-right of a thread, you'll see "rate this thread"....

nah, that rates the thread as in like if its a funny thread or something. he means as in an option for "Low", "Medium" and "High" priority

I think that's what it's there for.... given the "terrible" "bad" "average" "good" "excellent" ratings.... doesn't say anything about "high troll content" or anything....

no seriously, that's what I get out of the rating, you can use it for whatever you want....

that becomes a problem if its open to interpretation
