About Exclamation mark !!!

Hey help me out guys ...
coz everyone round here keep insisting me not to post exclamation sign after the line !!!

But I already told them that its my habit and I cant stop doing it..
I may reduce it..but it will take some time to get out of that habit !!!

And i know moderator of this site will soon ban me for this Stu*** reason

The reasons people don't like the exclamation marks:
1 - It's like shouting, and people don't like being shouted at
2 - It makes reading the text a lot harder

What you can do:
Before you hit 'Submit Reply' or 'Post' or whatever button you have to press, check your text and REMOVE the exclamation marks. I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that it's become a habit to type three exclamation marks after every line. What do you do when you have to type up a document, or e-mail someone?

Let's cover the definitions ...

An exclamation mark is that which denotes an exclamation.

An exclamation is:
1. An abrupt, forceful utterance: an exclamation of delight.
2. An outcry, as of protest.

So if you are neither outcrying nor uttering abruptly or forcefully, then the placement of an exclamation mark is punctuation abuse.

Hmmmm........I use exclamation marks quite a lot myself actually, but I think the use maybe defined above. Never thought that it could be read as shouting, always thought that was when you type in capitals.

For years I've had the habit of putting ellipses (...) after every sentence. I've been forcing myself to get out of the habit though so I look a little more professional/grown up.

You can break the habit. It's really not that hard. Patrick's got the right idea of going back and editing your post before you hit submit.

it's not so much they're banning you for stupid reasons, they just get overflow errors.

in your title even if variable mark has the value of 3 things get out of hand quick

mark = 3
mark!!! ==> 3!!! ==>
(3!)!! ==> (3 * 2 * 1)!! ==> (6)!!
(6!)! ==> (6 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1)! ==>720!

and 720! is rather large... takes a 500 bit register just to store a number of that magnitude.

now imagine if mark is 4, what if it's 10, what if it's 256. You'd need some damn big registers.

IMHO, the excessive punctuation can often carries the same connotation as caps lock abuse and that evil "logchomper smiley". To paraphrase guidelines from a competing forum:

We all answer questions here voluntarily, in our leisure time. We do that because doing so is fun for us, because we enjoy helping people and having interesting discussions. Guess what, it is much less fun if it gets stressful. So the last thing you want to do to get us to answer your question is to pass your stress over to us. Instead you want to take your time to write a well formulated post that is fun to answer.

For some reason, however, it's easier for me to overlook multiple exclamation points than it is to disregard the atrocious habit of some folks to string together a bunch of commas,,,,,,,,,,,
