Am I an Admin?
Example thread
If I start a thread I seem to have these cool admin features. I can't actually do anything, but the buttons are there. They're to shiny to resist. |

Those appear for anyone on the threads that they create (well those who are not contributing users may not see them, not sure). I think you'll find that the only option that works is the close thread option. But no, you're not an admin

Short answer no.
Long answer, the thread starter has control over some of those features namly the edit/delete thread (within 30 days I think?) that's why you see the buttons. Also any that you do not have access to will just give you an error page, try it out it won't hurt anything.

I kinda figured I wasn't an admin. Wasn't sure if it was "normal" to see that or not. I honestly don't remember seeing it untill today.
*runs off playing with the new buttons* ****EDIT****** The only one that works is the close thread. Does anyone actually do that? |

Yes, but we really would prefer it if they didn't...

Then why not just remove the extra options all together? |

There are perhaps legit reasons why people might want to
close threads [off topic/flames wars/etc,] so the option is there; but most of the people that use it do so because their question has been answered. |

Edit SHOULD work considering you can just click edit on your post, but it doesn't for some reason, delete also. I think they might be showing because of the groups and how the admins changed them. No big deal really most people don't even notice them.
