auto refresh after giving rep
The new "feature of having the page automatically refresh after you submit rep is kinda annoying. If you give out just two reps on, say, a 40 post page, you wind up loading the entire page a minimum of 3 times (one initially, two for the reps), which is kinda annoying and time consuming, especially when the page is big enough to begin with....
Unless, of course, the object is to prevent us from throwing rep around left and right ![]()

Looking at the code, it only fires when you click on the 'Submit'
button. If you press enter to submit the form, it shouldn't fire it. It's also a bit buggy, if your connection is busy, it will reload the parent window before it actually submits the form, so the reload is in effect pointless, as you'd have to refresh the page again to see the change. If the reload() function were called onSubmit of the form, both of those problems should* be solved in one go, btw... ![]() *who knows, I'm just guessing.

oh, really? It is only when clicking submit? Because I almost always hit <Enter> and I did click it the last couple times, so it's probably not new, just something I'm just now realizing ![]() |

Well, now it always refreshes when rep is submitted....
Could it be changed so that it is never refreshed? Like I said, it's sometimes kinda annoying.... |

it coukd be argued that the refresh reflects the latest and most accurate representation of the thread which is a good thing. It's also additional impressions which will help DS in terms of revenue from advertisers

But at the same time It's extra $ in wasted bandwidth. I'm not sure of the rates, but I'd think bandwidth minimization would be a good thing. If they want the rep to show up on the posts rightaway, one could create a javascript which dynamically adds the rep to the post, rather than reload the entire page. It'd look the same, but be smoother and not waste extra bandwidth. I agree with b-con, I rather dislike the auto-refresh. I lowered my posts per page to 20, partially because of that refresh.

The refresh stays, this one is non-negotiatable.
