Crazy Devshed problem
On my Kubuntu 5.10 machine running Firefox and behind a Level1 router (left anything out?) I sometimes have some problems browsing Devshed. When I click on a link, I'll be prompted to download newreply.php or some-thread.php instead of the page being displayed in the browser. I have checked my preferences and php files are not specified to be downloaded. Furthermore, this problem willl persist for a few minutes, then I can browse normally. It can only be reproduced during those few-minuite spans, which come at any hour of the day and last between a minute to ten. It only happens on the devshed forums.
Any ideas? This is getting frustrating. Thanks.

Moved from the Lounge to Suggestions & Feedback as it appears to be an infrastructural issue/concern. Will be moved as needed from here if this is discovered not to be the case.

NO, no proxy or firewall other than that which the router provides. Kubuntu _may_ have some default firewall built in, I'm going to start looking into it.
Could this have anything to do with the router's firewall? I was thinking it's more of a firefox problem, as if it does not recognise that .php files are to be displayed? Or maybe the response header is tripping it? |

Have you tried downloading the files and seeing what you get? What mime-type does it say the file is being served as?

No, I just assume that it's the (X)HTML that makes the page. I'll do this next time. I'll check the mime-type as well. Thanks. |

Has happened to me as well. Once, just 15 mins ago. Sometimes I just refresh the page to find out I've doubleposted
