devshed's spell checker and session control
I am very impressed with this forum with it's basic functionality and the quality of users professionalism and feedback. I am wondering if portions of it's code could be shared. For instance the spelling javascript code of a posting.
Also, how do you handle the control of a session? I have NEVER timed out and it would have been very unfortunate if users timed out in the middle of typing a posting. Thanks,

IIRC, the spell check is a publically availible VBulletin hack.

Ahh...I dunno, I'm not the admin, but you can just mod the PHP forum script and add
setcookie("epanagio", "userlogincookie", time() + 86400 * 365); then your cookies last a year, more than most fellas will need. Also a good reminder for ppl to visit DevShed at least once a year ![]() |
