Disable rep in Outhouse and Lounge
I think discussions in these areas get quite heated. I don't think rep should be used to support or disagree with people in threads in either of these forums. To me the purpose of rep is to credit people for good quality answers and at times, for de-repping when misleading information or perhaps other behaviour occurs in our regular forums.
Adding or subtracting rep because you are pro/con abortion, wal-mart, god, cody_e etc. etc. is just silly.

I think this has been discussed before (correct me if I'm wrong) but I don't think disabling the rep system in the outhouse and the lounge will be done as it's not high in priority by the Admins and for the fact that everyone just treats it as a joke really. |

It's been discussed before, both in and out of the super-sekrit mod forum. The conclusion was that a)rep is just a toy and b)people would just abuse the system by repping someone's post in another forum.

I don't think this would be a bad idea after all. people are getting obssessed with this rep toy thing..

Quite the contrary. The fact that some people are obsessed with it seems to indicate that making it more serious would push those people over the edge.

Haha, that would be interesting. Stopping posting because you are afraid of getting dis-repped. Imagine if you were the testpig. You get about 30-40 dis-reps per post.
Meh, the current system works. Unless it becomes a somewhat major issue, I think it's fine. |

Nothing I can do. Either way I'm fine. It's not like I care about my reps. (which translates to: feel free to dis-rep me as you please)
