That was the point; if it doesn't say ++ or --, then it might
encourage people not to use it for the wrong reasons... |

I quite often add little comments to peoples answers. These aren't worth a post in their own right, but neither am I agreeing / disagreeing. So, it would be good to have a neutral rep. as well.
BTW: Can a mod merge this thread and t240508.

Why not just have it say [username]++:comment or [username]--:comment and you can take what you want from it? |

Easy, just add an onSubmit handler to the form tag that checks
the value of the comment field, and returns true/false accordingly. Probly need to check it again in the php, but I don't know what the coode looks like there... Code:
<form action="reputation.php" method="post" onSubmit="return (this.elements['reason'].value!='');"> It could quite easily be adapted so as not to allow just whilespace or single chars to make sure the user doesn't just say '.' or some- thing similar... Easy to bypass, but then they'd just end up with an empty comment and no harm done, really. Probably need to get a vote on this to back up the message to esupport (although JC said he'd support a change). will set on up tonight unless someone else does first.
