Forum behavior driving me mad!
Is anyone else noticing that they start typing a post in this box and then 10 seconds later it takes the focus off the box. And if you are unlucky enough to press backspace to delete a character it goes back a couple of pages...its really starting to annoy me now. Has something been changed. This only started happening today.

Moved from the Lounge.
Are you sure? What browser/OS are you using? For what it's worth this doesn't seem to be affect me at all using Firefox 1.0.3 on Win XP Pro SP2 at work and Firefox 1.0.3 at home on Gentoo GNU/Linux. :=/

You're probably starting to type before the page fully loads, then when the load finishes, you lose focus.
I occasionally have the backspace behavior (not necessarily here, just in general). Under certain conditions which I've never paid enough attention to to figure out, the backspace is a quick key for 'go back one page'.

I actually noticed this today when I was at working and using IE. The text box (when using full reply - not quick reply) lost focus a couple times. Hitting backspace, as mentioned, took me back a page, too (expected behavior if nothing is in focus, though).
Can't say that I've ever noticed it at home with FF, though... ---John Holmes... |

the backspace key does that when the form is no longer in focus.... I believe I've had it happen to me before, but I use a wireless keyboard/mouse that have been known to transmit signals at random, so it's probably just them.... ![]()

I take it back. This is REALLY starting to irritate me now. More so because after checking on my own vBulletin3 forums I find that even if you start typing in this box before the page is loaded fully it does not lose focus. And this is happening to me every time on here. It has only been the last couple of days on here. Trust me I would have noticed before this! Have you added in any javascript that gives focus to another element onLoad?
