Forum Skin
I have been member in this forum since 2004, but not much changes in term of the forum skin?
Feel a bit boring tho... I have joined other forum (2004) and they have change the sites skin twice! What happen with this forum? Cheers...

Looks like you missed the last change, December 2003 looks a bit different.
An improvement on this. I think your suggestion is a good one. Interesting to see what the owners think. I know the boards are heavily modified - probably take quite an effort to overhaul it.

2003? Ahh cammon! Its 2008 now that means we have been using this skin for ther past 5 Flat years! No upgrade since then huh?
As I said before, I've joined other web design forum and they keep changing their skinn every 1-2 years! That way we get a fresh look at that forum. I am really sure about this since i have saved a lot of this forum thread back in 2004 and compare it with now, it still the same...

I looked here at 2004 and I noticed this skin was dull. Plain yellow. Not really exciting. I was thinking of a new modernized look. I looked back here right before I joined and I realized it was the same exact thing. New skin please!!

I know there are certain forums that can change the skin with the click of a drop-down box... if it's that easy, then go for it. But don't really think it's necessary if it takes some work, as I'm sure there are other things to worry about in making sure this forum stays as good as it is. Anyways.. just my thought.

hmm I'm sure there was a skin drop down box in the User Control Panel under Options. It had two skins in it. Doesn't seem to be there now. I did see it when this thread was first started so it's gone walk about since then.
How about a competition? Not sure about prizes, maybe a cheap-o free one could simply be to have a "Theme Designed By X" message/link at the bottom of the site or next to the theme name in the skin drop down (when/if it re-appears). We get enough designers dropping by the forums that it should peak some interest ay?

Yeah.
I suggested a new skin months ago but no one was really bothered. But I think I said it in the Shoutbox, not a thread Although it did lead to the page header being widened to be the same width as the rest of the page though, heh. There must be a lot of pre-made themes though - whether they would work or not depends on how hackishly this forum has been modified! A good hack shouldn't disrupt a theme, and vice-versa

I am not just talking about the skin or a drop down menu to select the skin, I am talking about the layout and new extra features!
Doing this as a competition will not be as easy as you think it is! This think has to be done in the admin level itself. The owner of this forum should be creative enough to make any changes or even a slight updates

They make lots of updates and changes. This entire sub forum is about those changes and people wanting more, you did notice there was more than just your post here right? :¬)
