i'm not sure how they are implemented and what the google api is like, may not be as easy as you might think (then theres the testing, ironing out the bugs etc)

Jeah, I understand it's not clickety-clack-done, but that's just an improvement suggestion. And it could be done, if there just is desire (and time/€) to do it. Or even $ or £, if no € is available.
