I've been registered as Ezmerelda since Oct 2003 but only post sporadically (82 posts). After posting today, I was unable to reply to my own thread - I was signed in but "not authorized to post".
Tried sending a support ticket, but you have to sign in for that and it wouldn't let me sign in to the support desk. I tried creating a new user (Ezmerelda2) but never received the confirmation email. I created a third user (Ezmerelda3) using a different email address and did receive the confirmation email. So I tried again sending a support ticket, but again, wouldn't let me log into the support desk. How do I get my original user name back so I'm not stuck as a new user who can't even use an avatar? Ez |

Not sure if you are aware of it, but the issue has been brought up with the admins and hopefully will be sorted out soon!

Hi,
Now I cannot login at all as Ezmerelda (original account). I'm getting the "invalid name or pw" message. Before, I could log into the forums but not post or login to the Support Desk. The other day when I made my last post as Ezmerelda, I noticed in my profile that my email address listed was an old Yahoo addy I never use anymore so I changed it to a @MSN.com addy. It said I would receive an email that I would have to use to verify the change. I checked the inbox and junk folders of both the old Yahoo addy and new MSN addy, but never got the email. So I didn't know if that change "stuck", but, when I logged back in later in the day, the MSN addy was what was listed in my profile. But that is when I discovered I could not post. When I created Ezmerelda2, I used the MSN addy to register but never received the confirmation email. When I created Ezmerelda3, I used a third addy (not Yahoo or MSN) and did receive the confirmation. Back to not being able to login today as Ezmerelda (original account) - I used the "send me my name & pw" option, and asked it be sent to the old Yahoo addy (since I wasn't sure if my addy was actually changed or not before) but got the message that that address was not recognized. So then I tried again and asked it be sent to the new MSN addy. I didn't get any error messages that time so i'm assuming that's the right addy now, but I never received the email. So I am guessing now that for whatever reason, email from DevShed is being blocked at the server level at my MSN addy and I don't think there's anything i can do about that. But, regardless of that problem, I never changed my password for Ezmerelda, so I ought to be able to log in with the same username (Ezmerelda) and pw I have been using all along on that original account. Hope this all makes sense, Ez PS - I didn't mention the attempted email change in my first post because I wasn't sure if the post would even be seen by anyone who could help so I didn't go into much detail. |

Well the email change would've shoved you back into the 'no posting/awaiting confirmation' group, which explains the no posting ability. In theory you just then get a validation email, validate, and you're back to normal. Obviously here you never got that email and so it didn't reaactivate your account.
Will copy this over to the admins again to see if they'll reset the password for you. comp |

I made an error in my last post.
The email addy I used for Ezmerelda2 was not an MSN addy. I just found the confirmation email for activating that account in the inbox of another address, dated Jan 7 - two days after I tried creating the account. So it seems mail to @msn (Ezmerelda) is being blocked period, @rcn (Ezmerelda2) is delayed, and @webtv (Ezmerelda3) is A-ok as I am receiving notices there that this has been replied to.
