Hire A Programmer Forum
Since most of the people offering services in the Hire A Programmer section are not "regulars", virtually all of their contact emails are blocked, rendering their listings useless.
This should either be changed for that forum, or restrict posts to those with the proper specs to be able to list an email / web site link. The way it is now, it's a pretty useless forum. Can't contact 90% of the people listed...

Wow! there is PM facility
You can contact them with a PM.
When you PM, an email will be sent to them. You can give your email address & details, if that matches the requirement, they can contact you further.

I think it's good that their contact info is taken out in their posts. It's a forum, not a classified ad. If they are looking to hire someone, then they should read the replies on the board. Otherwise, if they want people to contact them - they can post on monster or dice. Just my two cents.

The point is, 99% don't. Which makes 99% of the "Hire a Programmer" forum useless garbage. That being the case, why allow them to post at all? If you're going to allow non-regulars to post in that forum, allow them to post email addresses, other wise it's just wasted space. |

Isn't it set up by default that you're automatically subscribed to a thread when you create/post in it and that you get an email everytime someone replies to a subscribed thread?

Perhaps the moderator of that forum could add a sticky* that suggests that they turn on that particular feature since they can't post email addresses.
*Yea I know no one ever reads those but hey, if they can't be arsed to read the instructions then who cares. |

I don't remember the defaults. But I think when a PM is received, a mail is triggered, this is default.
If this is default then they will be notified as i posted before. If this is not, then it should be. |
