How are the most popular threads 'popular'
Hey everyone,


This question just popped into my head, and I would like to know, what makes the popular threads popular? Is it by view or replies? Because I have seen more threads with more views and replies than 'Simple math or ?'. Is something screwy with the script or what? Just something bugging me in my head.

Currently we grab 5 random threads which have 2 or more replies within last 24 hours. This section update every hour, we could have increase number of replies or other parameters to select popular threads, by doing that we notice in certain time periods there are very few threads or no threads following in to that criteria. So in order to at least show 5 threads we are considering only threads which has 2 or more replies.
