Mod or Admin Help, Please.
I respectfully ask that a Moderator or Admin please ask user: sizablegrin to stop abusing my account by "derepping" me on every post I make. Please see here:
http://forums.devshed.com/member.php?u=153214 I believe that user: sizablegrin is attempting to destroy my user account by "derepping" me for no particular reason whenever the rep cycle allows it. I believe that this is unacceptable harassment. Thank you.

I can do it if you like... However, as a gentleman and an adult, I choose not to. Perhaps as a teenager, you have different standards. Sizablegrin portends to be an adult as well. He should act it. As should you. Last edited by Arty Ziff : May 12th, 2008 at 11:40 PM. |

I can't help but draw a parallel to GameYin's thread where he complains about receiving negative rep.
It's a toy, Arty. If you're such a "mature adult", then why don't you act like one and ignore it. You could put sizablegrin on your ignore list, and just get over the negative rep. "Destroying" your account. Pfft. Edit: Let's look at the numbers! Sizablegrin has a rep power (currently) of 1194. As I look at your Latest Reputation Received that goes back nearly a month, I do indeed see many Disagrees from sizablegrin, but most of them are zeroes. Only 3 have actual negative rep (-568, -580, -594). And those are about half his rep power. If there's no neg-rep halving bug, then he's not even bothering give you the full blast. Along with other negative rep in that list, that's -2113. Add up all the positive rep: 2175. You came out rather even, it seems. How is this a "destruction" of your account? And even if sizablegrin derepped you with all his might as often as he was able, it would take a long time. Let's see... around 95000 total points... about -1200 points every 10 days... it would take him 13 months to bring your total points down to half of what they are now. I know where he's coming from. I certainly was pissed for getting negative rep when I surely didn't deserve THAT much -.

And the point of the math was to demonstrate that it would take one particular person an impractically long period of time to accomplish. Remember, he can only do up to around 600 points, and that's half of what I calculated, so make that 26 months. And that period of time was to halve your current points, assuming you don't get any more positive rep. To drive you into the red, it would take over 52 months. For those following along, that's almost 4.5 years. And, you do receive positive rep. As medialint has proven, you'll even get balanced against negative rep from time to time. So really, there's no impending crisis here. Your reputation is not facing imminent doom, and is in fact quite safe. You're just whining because somebody's picking on you. Edit: Quote:

.. I haven't experienced the dropdown being disregarded. I typically give rep of 101 frequently and this always seems to be what they get.
