Not insignificant, just you've had less input...

I've racked up over 4000 posts and compared to some of the people in here, i consider myself insignificant. Sepodati has racked up posts in the 5 figures, that's insane. Lots of people here put through a lot of information without even popping into the lounge. They're the significant people, the high postcounted people who provide a lot of reliable info.

R9337 anyone?
Chad
Comments on this post
M.Hirsch agrees: iirc, r937 has been specifically invited to become a mod. I think he didn't even ask for it.

To become a moderator you either have to:
- prove yourself and get the respect of the current moderating team, and find a point where they actually require new moderators (a bit of luck, I admit)
OR
- register at our stepsister site DevHardware, and get their respect (much easier than here on Dev Shed, just post heaps of "WTF?" "OMG-LOL, ROTFLMAO, WTFBBQ?" posts). Then, when you're a mod there, just suggest that you might be a good helping hand here on Dev Shed too. You only have to make sure that I and some other people aren't watching you...

Most people on DS became moderator for reason #1.
Some went with #2 though. (not naming anyone specifically....)

In some cases #2 led to #1... also not mentioning names

Thats a bit self-serving, vested interest we might say. So you do want to be a mod which route are you going to take?
