We changed the text box in reputation popup window into a drop down with numbers 0,1... up to the users max reputation power to avoid confusion? The dropdown's default value is set to 0 users have to make a conscious decision on how many points they want to assign, rather than automatically giving their max reputation.

It's neat, but wouldn't it be smarter to start it out at "Please select" or something, so people can't accidently give 0 points?

I just tried to agree and give +5 points to a post in the C forum , but it puked somehow and ended up being a "disagree" with -2 points.
I know, blame it on user error... but honest, it wasn't me!

OK what we did was we moved the part about selecting the number of reputation points to the TOP of the pop up box that appears when you want to leave someone reputation. So that should be a little better in terms of forgetting to select points.

Good idea. I wouldn't think the prospect of the odd accidental 0-rep would be sufficiently serious to warrant writing something to catch those mistakes. I suspect that you all have ``Better Things'' to be doing.
