Non-Poll Thread in FTP Help Showing Poll Icon in UserCP
Hi all. In my UserCP it shows a poll icon (the first image attached) for "Recently lost FTP capablity". However, there's no poll in that thread and when viewed in the forum thread listing (the second attached image) and the thread itself has no poll.
This is the only time I've ever seen that happen. Perhaps it's simply a database glitch of some sort? ![]()

Most likely it WAS a poll, but was edited by a mod. I've seen the same type of thing with "last poster" in a thread, where someone posts and then they become the last poster, but then they delete their post and it still shows them as the last poster. Probably because all the "last poster" related info is cached to save db queries, the same way usernames are hard-coded to their respective posts. When you change your username, it's doesn't change all your posts with that username (as you well know
) and the same thing probably goes for everything having to do with "last poster"....

It seems to be fixed now, whatever it was.

Is there a new post in the thread? If so, that's assuradely the answer, because then all the "last poster" info would have to be refreshed anyway....

Can polls be removed by mods? I don't think so - you can only do it through the admincp I think. |

I just checked, you can only close polls from the "Edit Poll" link. You need to go into the admincp and use the "Strip Poll" option to remove the poll completely. And I've just been playing with vBulletin beta 2 - lots of nice new features. Whenever you use quick reply it doesn't reload the whole page and the inline moderation tools are good - I could close every single thread in the lounge in about 10 seconds ![]() |

Which provideds excellent motivation for the mods NOT to upgrade.... ![]() |
