Trying to remember where i read that . . . Anyway here says its number 5. Still think the .NET framework and .NEt languages should have seperate forums though. |

Of course, I totally understand. Still I know the people that are ACTIVE in the C programming forum agree with me. Most of them don't come to a thread like this though so I would have to ask them all to answer the poll and show you that THERE IS a strong support to remove it.

I wrote my own too, but then I realized that it was so useless I'd have to overhaul it to make it worth anything, now it's just a collection of bugs.... <ontopic> on one hand, I'd say split C# off because it's NOT one of the true C languages.... however, it doesn't really fit with the .NET section, so I'd say leave it, don't fix it unless it's broke....

I checked it this morning, id read it in linux format magazine. Some guy was reviewing Gambas a new basic editor for linux. He does however go on to say that this was before .NET and c#. That would be maybe 5 years ago so he was a little behind the times. Either way its certaintly not true today, i just never really thought about it. |

A reasonable point, apart from the expletives at least
![]() Putting C# to the .NET forum permanently will only move the problem somewhere else.As programming languages VB.NET and C# are even less related than C(++) & C#. Either way i doesnt look like anything will change anyway. Last edited by Civ247 : March 9th, 2005 at 11:43 AM. |

I would say it would be better if you are sure it's not going to. <example> Say you have a vase, which is standing on a table, then when there are children running around which can throw the vase of the table and break it, do you move it? Or are you going to wait until it breaks and then try to glue the vase? </example> It would be wise to remove the vase from the table so that the kids cannot break it, even though that have not done so far. |

I don't know C#. Unlike almost anything else you care to name, I have no intentions of learning it. It is part of a thrust to stifle competition. Whatever its other merits (or lack thereof, I have no idea), that's enough for me. I personally disagree with the practice of sending the posters away from the forum as long as it's advertised as being a part of that forum. (As everyone knows, I am NEVER rude!
) If a poster doesn't receive numerous responses, so what? A number of other kinds of questions appear from time to time that receive the same short shrift. I'm abstaining simply because none of the options describe my viewpoint or position. |

What option would you have voted Dawei?
I disagree with the practice of sending the posters away from the forum also. And I like C#, and have worked with it for about half a year some time ago. But if I would have a question then I would like to ask it in the forum that responds the quickest, or at least get answered. There is a forum where this happens and that is in the .NET forum, not in the C programming forum. |
