Quick Reply text box
I think that the Quick Reply text box at the bottom of each page should be removed, as it is disabled. If anything, it'll save a few bits across the network.
As should also be removed the "Automatically parse links in text" checkbox and -no-I-won't-say-it... the link between "User CP" and "Members".

You do realise that you have to click on the link at the bottom right
of a post to enable the quick reply box, right? I'm using it right now, and I think most people do. Yes, the link parse option could go, as it was disabled by the admins due to spamming, and yes, the calendar link could go too, but what difference does it make if it stays...?

Er, I see how to do it now... I'm go find a nice clean hole to climb into...
As for the links staying, I don't personally care. But it seems rather untidy to disable them yet leave the links. Also, it has confused people in the past. |

I always and I mean ALWAYS use the quick reply box. I would vote no dot.

Now that I see how to use it, I agree that it should not be removed. I thought that it was another one of those appendii that still have an interface, but no feature. |

The best example of a modified quick reply I've found is a custom job.
The quick reply is enabled by default and the QR button in each post calls a javascript that pastes quote tags and the post into the end of the box, it's a great timesaver and eliminates the need for `@postername` etc.

![]() FYI: You have to click the link so the board can know to which message you're replying (via JavaScript), which is only important if you change the forum view to hyrig or threaded. Give it a try in this thread, and you'll see that I didn't reply to the last post in the thread.
