Reminders to self
having received a number of useful responses to some of the threads i've initiated, i find that i have to park acting on them because i have to deal with other work issues first
that way i'm in danger of forgetting about it at a later stage (especially when the thread is no longer visible on page 1), short of printing the thread out and putting it in a (paper) 'to do' folder maybe the option i have in mind already exists in this forum (in which case could someone point me in the right direction), but it would be nice if i could leave a reminder tag on threads i've initiated (presumably only visible to myself, although i don't mind if other people can see them), reminding me of whatever action i've decided upon but haven't yet got around to [hope the above description isn't too obscure or muddle-headed] |

You can subscribe to threads if that's what you want.

thanks, i do seem to have a number of threads on my subscription list but have not chosen to receive e-mail notification however, unless there's some functionality that i haven't twigged, the only way i can alert myself of threads to be actioned is by unsubscribing to the ones that are 'dead' and leaving the others as a reminder that i still need to deal with them correct ? |

I also agree that a "tag this thread" option would be nice. I subscribe to posts automatically when I post in them, and don't want to change that because I like to be notified when they are updated. However, that makes searching for a particular thread nearly impossible. And if I forgot that I wanted to remember (too much dope), then all hope is lost.
I suppose that I could simply bookmark the page like every other page on the internet.

well, i've done what people suggested and subscribed to current + past threads with useful bits in
still feels like something's missing though - it really would be handy if i could leave myself a one-liner with the reason why i subscribed to the thread in the first place any chance of having that sort of facility created ? |

Find a vB hack and post the link here, then we can all discuss it and propose it to the admins... |

There is a forum where people discuss and post vB hacks:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=32 Completely off-topic: Sep, did you know about this? :O |
