rep for newbies
I think that new users (ie, non 100 posts/90 days) should start with 1 rep point rather than what I assume is 0, a grey dot.

That way, the new people we help that give us rep actually contribute to our power rather than just a comment (which doesn't even show in the forum so you can't tell who it is from).

We do not allow this for obvious reasons. So that people cant create multiple accounts and defraud the system by posting reputation for themselves.

Yeah well Perhaps though there must be some way of doing it? It's annoying not to be able to recieve rep when they rep you for the post-a-question and don't come back type of things...

Would it be possible for non full-users to only be able to rep

No because full users could them create non full users and use abuse the rep system.

Again we have thought about this long and hard, there is no way around it.
